As I see it, the IBM/ORACLE/SUN/APPL camp is after NOVL simply because the NT battle is shaping up. Despite NOVL's past woes, it still has a pretty big corporate base. Rather than have it whittled away, one of the anti-NT players may be striking. The news on Apple was a little similar. Not the MSFT investment (a throwaway PR job to boost sales), but rather Oracle joining the board and boosing Rapsody as a serious alternative to NT. Sincerely, Ben
