In the mid 90's I was peripherly involved in some work with GEC Alstom in Brittain modifying standard industrial gas turbines for oil field work. These were larger turbines, mostly for offshore rigs. Because they were burning untreated gas, straight from the well, there was quite a bit of variation in the fuel system depending on the composition of the gas. That was 15 years ago, and it was not a new idea then.
