What is the general opinion of the U.S. regarding our politics and our president's position constantly being under attack? Europeans feel--sometimes rightly, sometimes wrongly--that we're arrogant and want to make the rest of the world think and feel as we do. I confess I understand this: a great many Americans sincerely believe that citizens of other countries would really rather be Americans. Foreigners rightly find such sentiments offensive. They also think we're extremely naive. And in many ways we are. Witness this current nonsense. Utterly stupid. Anywhere else in the world nobody'd bother with it.
