David C,

I personally use Ceres (www.ceres.com) for my trades on stocks under a dollar. I also have an account at Lombards. I like both. Lombards does start to get expensive if you trade large blocks of stocks under a $1.
Ceres has a flat rate of $18 a trade. You can trade some stocks under a $1 over your computer with Ceres if they have it listed, if not you call the broker and he'll make the trade. I have had pretty good success with Ceres and they do not charge more if you call the broker. $18 either way. Good luck, I hope this helps you or maybe others who do not know this.

Happy Trading to All,
Chris

P.S. Thanks Shawn for starting this thread. It has recently become my #1 thread to read, it seems to have drawn some very knowledgeable and savvy traders with various views and even the slightest hint of caution that all new and even experienced traders need to remember. Best regards to Andrew, Kevin, P Webster, both Steve's and all. I'm learning a lot and hoping to start profiting from the knowledge off of this thread. Thanks
