whats the message

The message to me is that there are some investors who don't want to (and don't need to) sell at these levels...and who see these levels as a chance to buy or to add to their existing positions.

The other message might be that certain stocks are building a base, and we could have a major rally.

Of course....it could always be just the opposite, that we're going to have a huge drop in the market. I just don't feel that we're going to stay at this level very long...one way or the other.

Risk/reward....IMO I'd rather have some long positions in a diversified portfolio....and not worry about the daily fluctuations in the market. I guess to me, the market is also sending the signal of "back to basics"....buying companies that I feel comfortable holding, no matter where the daily stock price trades.
