Since when are the colleges and universities supposed to "pre-screen and ban" books?

Oh, merciful heavens!

Yes, Virginia, they're supposed to "pre-screen" books before they give them to students, and, well, maybe ban, maybe just present with explanation.

Depends on the book. I can't think of any good reason to give them, say, a paean to the pleasures of pedophilia, and by that I don't mean "Lolita." If they're pedophiles let them find their pornography on their own, like everybody else.

"Mein Kampf" and "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion", on the other hand, should be presented with lots of previous explanation and discussion afterwards.

We are, after all, talking about instititions of learning. That means somebody teaches.
