New Bed 'n Breakfast in Palo Alto Under this questioning, Barksdale acknowledged that he had at least six meetings with Justice Department lawyers before the lawsuit was filed in May, including three conversations with Justice's antitrust chief, Joel I. Klein. For one of those meetings, Klein visited Barksdale's house in Palo Alto, Calif., for breakfast, Barksdale said. Barkdale admitted to breakfasting Klein but didn't say whether he was bedded by the missus.
