Glen ,The cable modem setup you have sounds excellent and the price, 150, is ok and will come down quickly. No question the price will drop as soon as backbone costs drop further. So why are you interested in ascend when so much of there revenue is based upon technology for copper (pots) ? Most cable companies are not persuing the cable modem access arena. They are too much in debt as a rule so xDSL and 56K has a large market yet to come. I believe a good part of the rest of the world does not have cable TV access so copper will be used. Finally, I use POTS too. The cable access is only at one sight. I use a dial up ISP when I move from office to office. Cannot do that with cable. That situation will not change for a long time to come. One major "problem" with cable access. Glenn
