<<...GW's life has been composed of a long line of "stories" to hold up his life story. Rove, Mellman, Hughes and others have made an industry out of making the guy credible. Iraq is just another sad example, but now with profound and tragic consequences.
The war in Iraq was decided by GW's gut instinct. Kind of like faith, there was no arguing against it. The intelligence was definitely cooked. They got everything out of the pot they put into it. Then, when questioned about it, they blame the intelligence agencies, they point to the Democrats in Congress for believing the "same" intelligence, they point to other countries that believed there were WMDs, but they will never cast any light on their efforts to cook the intelligence.
Purely ideologues, casting aside principles to achieve their ends, they won the power game. They got to practice their art of power. Hoodwinking the public is just part of their schtick. If the facts don't support the policy, change the facts. Muddy the water. Don't worry about yesterday. Look to what a great world it will be tomorrow. Have faith in the guy with the big heart...>> |
