August Smart Money magazine had articles on small caps

page 25
"Prudential Securities suggests investors can get top returns with far less risk. Consumer-discretionary stocks -- gaming, restaurants, lodging retail and media have made some of the biggest gains in the small cap market with far less volatility than other leading industries."

Page 55
"the S&P 600 small cap index has been up 11.7 percent from early April through June 15 while the S&P 500 has been essentially flat"

Hopefully this argument can be applied to bear. Hindsight is always 20-20. Foresight is much worse. But, with big gains on no news, participation in the small cap rally seems the best explanation for the recent gains.
