Like I said, I'm not a fan of the Deep South, nor do I see the Confederate Flag as anything more than an anachronism. Surely they can put that away in a history museum or whatever, then leave the heritage to movies like Gods and Generals (or a campy TV series like "The Dukes of Hazzard").

But I'm not going overboard with my views, nor am I jumping to the conclusion that the Confederate Flag is the mark of the devil itself. I understand why Southerners want to keep flying the flag, and it doesn't have anything to do with the return of Jim Crow or slavery. And frankly, understanding this is a lot more important to me than satisfying a bunch of Thought Police hypocrites who preach open-mindedness but practice otherwise.
