Furriners like yourself may be happy to lend since the USA is still consider more or less stable. I don't know how you liked the decline of the dollar though if that affected your particular situation.

That's not the point though. WE, the US of A need to pay as we go as well as pay down our debt. It's utter nonsense for some to say that we can just grow the debt and it's no big deal.

It is a big deal. It puts us in debt to other nations and makes it more difficult for us to deal strongly with them. Besides, we're not funding development, we're funding consumption.

If fat Americans didn't eat for 6 months, they'd keel over from loss of muscle including loss of heart muscle. I don't know what would happen to their brains. Your lizard mind is emotional and doesn't make rational use of the information at hand to plan out the best course of action. Thus we have the stock market bubble.
