Tony, you WILL see Cyrix comparing their M2 chip the the Pentium Pro.

Their P200+ is effectively a 150MHz Pentium Pro with a slower FPU and a lower list price. The M2 will be faster and have more L1 cache.

If the M2 is as promised, the PPro will be in trouble. I don't care whether they do it at .25 micron or with TTL logic -- results are all that count.

Right now, Win95 is the big thing and Cyrix does it better. The new NT from MS has driver problems and MS-stock is down (rather than skyrocketing as during their Win95 announcement).

If you are betting on NT, watch out for RISC coming in from all sides. Personally, I think we're a ways off. A chip that does integers with Win95 is what the world will need for some time to come.
