Frankly, I am in favor of a VAT type tax.

VAT is a nightmare. A NST is my preferred alternative. I've yet to see anyone make a really good argument against NST (I've some people who THOUGHT they did<g>...).

But either way, a consumption tax is a huge improvement over this garbage we have today.
