Indeed, Huff Post had a good article today about how tattered our social safety net and health system is. One of the worst of the western democracies.

And it is the direct result of the Republicans chipping away at it for the last 50 years when they started having dominate power when the south went Republican after the 1964 civil rights act.

The ACA is better than before Obama, but is far short of what we need and the Republicans have voted as I recall, over 100 times to get rid of it and they have no plan to replace it and no plan to even try.

My primary worry now are the poor and vulnerable, as we do not have a viable social and health safety net and I can see those people are suffering greatly now with no hope in sight. And their plight will worsen greatly as time goes by and we have no plan to help them.

That is shameful.

Tens of millions of people have no money and no prospects for safe work. Imagine how much they are suffering.

I just had (five minutes ago) a fellow come to my door asking to cut my lawn.

And all the while we are spending trillions propping up the irresponsible corporations that borrowed trillions and then used the money for stock by backs, not investment, and now are broke and want government hand outs.

These are the same hypocrites that have been bad mouthing socialism for the last 50 years.

Socialism for the rich, but not the poor.

I thought the government was going to pay. I guess I missed something.Uninsured Americans could be facing nearly $75,000 in medical bills if hospitalized for coronavirus
I remember a story of patient dying from coronavirus, whose last words "Who is going to pay for this?".

This is the reality of existing medical system in this country.
