" Without ACA, they had no opportunity to become insured." BS. Every time I've had a company plan there was a waiting period (always less than a year) before preexisting conditions were insured. But they were insured.

I seem to remember that company plans had a similar clause for new hires, which my company separately insured.

Have you never changed insurance carriers?
