Nothing would have prevented an attack on Afghanistan, or somewhere to demonstrate national military power. I recall the warnings and Kipling stanzas, but the support for that was 98%.

The criticism about criminalization was not only reasonable, it is still incomprehensible that FBI and others failed in even rudimentary competence following 9/11. Allowing Arabs, including the bin Laden family to be the only flights in American airspace, while they picked people up and fled the country, without the most commonsense restrictions for interviews... Imagine what would have happened if Clinton had allowed something like the McVeigh family to leave the country and go to Paris w/o meeting w. the FBI. And this was far worse than the OK bombing.

There are a hundred such incidents showing unprecedented incompetence at least. That's not "bitching" or doom-and-gloom, that's serious failure, even following what was already the most serious intel failure in our history. Any explanation is still being stonewalled, and the jellyfish Congress complies.
