Snips 12 and 13 from iFixit’s teardown reveal QCOM’s SDX55M 5G modem, an LTE transceiver (SDR865), and SMR 526 intermediate frequency IC.
However, Step 13 shows the antenna module is made by USI as well as the ultra-wideband chip.
Thus, this contradicts the recent BoA report which stated all iPhone 12 models contained QCOM antenna modules for mmW. The QTM525 contains several componets as indicated below>>>>....”...with separate power amplifiers, filters, envelope tracking, antennas, transceivers, etc for the mmWave spectrum. Qualcomm packages these mmWave components into a single module, dubbed a millimeter wave module (QTM525), ...”
Does the AAPL antenna module manufactured by USI also contain all the components mentioned above?
If so, BoA has a lot of explaining to do.
