3-D Advertising Robot Enters Chat Rooms
[March 24] Black Sun Interactive, ADSmart Corporation, and Planet Direct announced today they have joined forces to develop an interactive online advertising tool.
The SpokesBot is an ad solution that enables advertisers to interact with consumers in 2-D and 3-D online environments, targeting their ads to the topic of the online forum.
SpokesBot technology enables advertisers to display their messages in chat windows within a chat environment using a 3-D animated character that can respond to inquiries.
"People involved in online communities are active Web participants who voice opinions on topics they truly care about," said Martin Lowrie, president of ADSmart. "Communities attract people with similar interests and activities, and our goal is to hone in precisely on customers most likely to be interested and receptive to advertisements in a community environment."
Black Sun established a Community Bill of Rights for all SpokesBots, advising advertisers on standard rules of conduct for interacting on the Net.
SpokesBot incorporates the technology of ADSmart, enabling advertisers to rotate, track, and evaluate these chat environment ads just as they would standard banners.
Planet Direct developed "Dusty the Dustbuster SpokesBot" for its partner, Black & Decker. The 3-D robot Dusty will interact with customers of Planet Direct's Internet service, answering questions and offering information on B&D's dustbuster product. |
