We do have friends in the Middle East. This is not about hating Arabs or Muslims but a certain faction that is sick.

Kuwaitis Promise to Make Up for Oil Shortfalls

America's ally in the Persian Gulf is stepping up to bat for us.

Kuwait’s Oil Minister Adel Khalid Al-Sebeeh vowed today that Kuwait would take steps to make sure oil prices remain stable, and will produce crude oil for world markets to keep supply strong.

"There should not be a fall in supplies,” Al-Sabeeh said. "But in case of such a fall, Kuwait will take the necessary measures to guarantee the stability of the world market in cooperation with other OPEC members.”

The Emir of Kuwait Shaikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Shaikh Saad al-Abdulla Al-Sabah sent cables of condolences yesterday to President George W. Bush expressing their sincere sympathy.

In Washington, D.C., Kuwait Information Office Director Dr. Shafeeq N. Ghabra said, "We cannot express our horror over what has happened, and we are encouraging Kuwaitis in the U.S. to help out any way they can.” The Kuwaitis are no stranger to this type of aggression, as their country was invaded in 1990 by Saddam Hussein. Hussein is already being fingered as a likely suspect in yesterday's attacks.

When terrorists first tried to blast the World Trade Center in 1993, they did so on the anniversary date of the U.S. launch of its ground war to liberate Kuwait.
