"600,000" Java developers.


I sure hope so, although going so far as to say that they will bring MSFT down is preposterous. At best, they can make MSFT just another player, not as dominant as they are today. But I fear that MSFT will be able to effectively leverage its monopoly power and FUD to eliminate competition by splintering standards such as Java and CORBA.
NOISE has done a great job advocating a standard, write-once-run-anywhere, Java, and I hope it wins out.
