ERICSSON FORMS NEW COMPANY IN SWEDEN
The Swedish telecommunications market continues to develop with increased competition. Ericsson will strengthen its ability to support its customers by forming, on July 1, 1998, a new company, Ericsson Sverige AB, with responsibility for all infrastructure and systems related business with Telia as well as with new operators in Sweden.
Ericsson will mobilize its joint resources for improved service to individual customers through the formation of the new company. With the new company Ericsson in Sweden will be organized in a way similar to its organization in other major markets.
Ingemar Nilsson has been appointed head of the new company in Sweden. Ingemar Nilsson is at present vice president, general manager of business unit Public Networks within Infocom Systems. He has previously held different management positions including as vice president, general manager region Asia, Africa and Latin America and as vice president, general manager region UK.
Ericsson's 100,000 employees are active in more than 130 countries. Their combined expertise in fixed and mobile networks, mobile phones and infocom systems makes Ericsson a world-leading supplier in telecommunications.
