We need a war. I've concluded that Mr. Bush should have his way and start a war. I guess it matters a bit who it's with, as long as it's with a big oil producing country, especially one with shut-in capacity. I guess Iraq will do but Saudi Arabia would probably be better but let's leave that for another generation. George WW.

It won't be good for the gold price in the short run, and if we win it won't be good for oil prices. The Bush comrades in Texas will suffer but when we control the incremental production of 5 million BOE then prices will get back to reality. Then, the world economy will take off. This is, after all, a huge tax on world output.

Demand for metals will explode. Demand for services will explode. And, because there's so much liquidity in the system that's not being used, the demand will drive inflation and gold will do well.

Houston, we don't have a problem, we have certainty.
