Elmer, Re: "There are some remarkable bits of information in that article! It is beginning to look like Intel is pulling away from the rest of the world in process technology in a manner that I haven't seen in my 20 years in the business. All that R&D is coming to fruition. Monster 300mm fabs, 90nm process... Logic, Analog, Flash and Dram integrated onto a single process! All Intel needs is customers...."

I agree. Intel has been saying for a while now that breaking into the communications business will require new levels of cost cutting, as well as real cutting edge technology (no pun intended on the word "cutting" <g>). It looks like they can now deliver both. I agree, though, that the one thing Intel is lacking is a strong market; but, one thing we do know is that many companies want to grow and get themselves out of the current rut. All it will take is some good, new solutions, and Intel will be the one to offer these. I think we will soon finally see the day where Intel's communications businesses are as profitable as their microprocessor business.

Re: Did you see where Jerry again claimed AMD has the "best yields in the world"?

He's either an idiot, or a liar. Not good either way. It's a good thing that he is retiring. I think he alone was holding AMD back.
