Their favorite question is"who is going to pay for this stuff? We are broke." Meanwhile we are 5% of the earth's population and we own about a third of the world's wealth. The top 1 percent of our population (or .0001% of the earth's population) has greater wealth than 3 billion of the poorest people on earth. Yet these folks don't think we should ask them to pay a little more in taxes to help upgrade out infrastructure.
