Thanks for the insight. I think one of the recent stimulus items was 100% depreciation which would seem similar. My basic concept is that investment should be investment and it should not be industry specific. It all gets back to winners and losers being picked by government. I would also note that in the past when I did some investment analyses there is an means of doing accelerated depreciation for capital equipment that moves much of the depreciation forward. I have not done that for a number of years so someone could update us on that. en.wikipedia.org
