Away a week and GNET drops, lets get this back above 100. As for SM and TM and R and C and P these are all protected marks but its only when the proper federal filing occurs that you can use R for registered trademark and all the federal court power to go after infringers, the SM and TM mean that you are asserting a right or have registered under State law, but you will not be able to jump into federal court to enforce your rights, same with C and P (for phonograph records) you can copyright by filing with the library of congress and use the federal courts, but under treaties, you automatically have copyrigh protection the second you create and publish, even if you do not say so at the end of your work....but again, which court and how are you going to get your righrs protected is why one should always listen to the patent and trademark and copyright lawyers, even though they charge a small fortune, imho.
