They sure as hell are if they occur in a hospital and are caused by hospital mistakes....says a great deal about quality of care...

Those deaths would be correctly be counted as medical deaths. The data base does not have a category for hospital mistakes. If you get an infection in the hospital and die, your cause of death would be either the infection of whatever it was that caused you to be in the hospital in the first place.

Non-medical deaths would be murder, auto accidents, IED's, jumping off a bridge, etc. They don't belong in there.
