4/25/08 update
Despite the relentless rise in price of oil, the Nasdaq Composite Index managed to cut its YTD loss from down -9.40% YTD a week ago to down -8.65% YTD at Friday's close. The Nasdaq Biotech Index also managed to cut its YTD loss, but only by a minuscule amount from down -3.53% YTD a week ago to down -3.51% YTD at Friday's close. The median of the Contest portfolios did a bit better over the week, reducing its YTD loss from down -8.98% YTD the prior Friday to down -7.52% YTD at this week's end.
At Friday's close, 11 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 14 of the portfolios beating the NBI. ROBERT's portfolio continued in first place with a 24.8% YTD gain and GENE's portfolio held on to second place with a 15.3% YTD gain.
