anyone get information week mag? this weeks issue has an interesting cover article. cover reads:

"next quarter, microsoft plans to announce some startling prices on the enterprise version of nt - startlingly high, that is. expect to pay as much as five times more for the new version than for the current release. the cost of owning a full-fledged enterprise nt system could run up to over $1 million - a price so high, its forcing users to evaluate the Big Issue: given the pain involved in migrating from unix, will high-end nt be worth it?"

i hope m/soft stumbles, unix remains strong, and that sgi takes the enterprise market by storm!

another intersting tidbit was that according to international data corp, there were 16.2 million 16-bit office suite software packages (win 3.x) shipped last year compared to 12.9 million 32-bit packages (win95). thats kind of amazing considering every new computer comes with win95 for "free."

regards,
kris
