I don't know a lot about world-wide birth control, Alex. I know that in Russia, the rate of abortions is four to every live birth. I would prefer to defer to more of an expert on this one. Volunteers?

I believe it is related to the lack of available reliable birth control for the most part, though. In countries where doctors are cheap and available but medications are expensive, I think this happens more often.
