Microsoft told them to put the IE icon back where Microsoft wanted it, or Compaq wouldn't have a Windows license anymore. Do you think "restore the sacred icon, or else" is an unfair paraphrase of that particular request, colorful though it may be? Like I said, John, I'll dig up the story if you promise to hold the ad hominems for a month. And, like I said, I'm not holding my breath.
