CO2 lags the start of warming, but commences well before the end of the warming. An oh so crucial difference. The past warming cycles would only be about 1/2 the amplitude if it were not for the greenhouse gases. The lag is about 800 years, but the warming takes about 5000 years. Learn something about feedback loops, it might be useful.
