Absolutely - but I can't imagine the outcry if they attempted that. They don't have realistic options to use nearly as much data. If they build their own popular email, search, payment processing, video sharing, etc. platforms, then it would help that cause.

The new Windows Phone Assistant sounds a lot like what I proposed-- A Google Now competitor that harvests data from how you use your phone.
