I have been reading books about rightwing evangelicals.
Across the board, the conclusions are that, except for a few honest ones like Billy Graham, the rightwing evangelical movement is a big fat con job.
While there are good people involved, they are chock-filled with ambitious greedy hucksters, political operatives, fleecers of the poor and elderly, un-Christian profiteers, paranoid delusionary apocalypse now types, hypocrites, white supremicists and militia gun nuts, bigots, closet gays and secret sex addicts, phony faith healers, self-righteous fairy tale spinners, charlatans and superstitious frightened ignoramuses.
This is Bush's base, the most gullible, frightened, confused and misled sector of the American populace. |
