Hi Steve,

The short play in the AM would have been a good one. Unfortunately the market opens at 6:30 where I am and I tend to be a little fuzzy at that time of day. By the time I had it figured out, it was dropping like a fat rock. There are a too many things I don't like about going short in general that make it hard for me to push the button.

Things are changing so fast with Novell that I'm down to reading 1 minute intraday charts. Yesterday's was bad ugly. Today's looks good after the correction.

Schmidt's position has been so solidly "Novell is not for sale" that I really did not expect anything else. It gave me a chance to put some money in my cash account so I'm not the least bit upset that the rumor didn't come true. The real news over the last few days is that Novell is a good deal even without a buy out. The market needs a new hero. The blue chips are so over bought and over priced that Novell may just be Wall Streets next fair haired boy. In fact the publicity Novell is getting will probably boost sales as well.

I still consider Novell a long term play but I'm not against taking a profit when it's handed to me on a silver platter.

Regards,

Don
