No, I believe in some things that Catholics don't believe in, and don't believe in some things that they do.
When it comes to Christianity, I tend to stick pretty close to the Gospels and the Acts, and this isn't a subject that comes up there. As you may know, most Jews don't believe in an after life, so there's nothing much about that in the Old Testament, and not much at all in the New Testament.
The way I figure it, without someone coming back to tell us what's on the other side, there's no reason to believe much of anything. Let it be a surprise.
Christ talks about "coming to the Father" -- that could mean anything, really. Vanishing into nothingness, retaining identity, reincarnation, whatever, who knows?
Even the Last Judgment -- and then, what? Who knows? |
