Interesting post from Yahoo below. Also rumors of IDEC doing a press release today posted on Yahoo.

Appears Rituxan on it's way to be a standard treatment for all non hodgkins lymphomas, either alone or in combination with more traditional drugs, such as the CHOP combination.

Rituxan is so well tolerated, I hate to see it used with the drugs not so well tolerated (makes it harder to appreciate how well tolerated it is when suffering from the side effects of other agents.

While I am not an oncolgist(I am an Internist and Geriatrician), I have followed the field of immunology for 2 decades. The kinds of biological therapies now being released is the stuff I imagined back then.

I also have personal experience with Rituxan, as my wife was treated in December. She is now doing the best she has in years, and her CT scans continue to improve. She is in a study where she receives it once a week for four weeks every 6 months.
There is just no comparison to the Fludarabine and Mitazantron (sp?) she received a few years ago.

My only concern is the reimbursement to the Oncologists from the insurance companies. They want to pay the wholesale cost, but that doesn't cover many of the associated costs of administration. Oncologists are currently under a disincentive to treat patients with Rituxan for this reason. Once again the insurance companies are putting profits before the welfare of the people they insure.

Rituxan is a great advance in the treatment of lymphoma. That is why I recently bought this stock, and plan to hold it long term. Best of luck to all.

Anyone else have any experience with Rituxan they would care to post? don
