Pentium 4-M 2.0GHz to Come on June 24

According to the info, we have at our disposal, another mobile Pentium 4 solution aka Pentium 4-M 2GHz will be launched on June 24.
At present the fastest Pentium 4-M processor targeted for full-size and thin & light notebooks is the one working at 1.8GHz. However, in the end of the month Intel is going to increase the top core clock of its Pentium 4 CPUs based on 0.13micron Northwood core. As we learned from an Intel’s spokesman during an unofficial talk, on June 24 the company is going to announce two new mobile Pentium 4-M processors working at 1.9GHz and 2GHz. The 2GHz model will cost $637 while Pentium 4-M 1.9GHz will be available for $431. As you might already know, the today’s fastest Pentium 4-M 1.8GHz sells in wholesale quantities for $348. We expect this relatively high price of Pentium 4-M CPUs to last until Q4 2002, so that Pentium 4-M 2GHz will hardly get very well-known in the notebook market at all.
New Pentium 4-M CPUs will be manufactured with 0.13micron technology, feature 512KB L2 cache and will use 400MHz Quad Pumped Bus. TDP (Thermal Design Power) of both models working at 1.9GHz and 2GHz will be equal to 32W in Performance mode with 1.3V Vcore. In Battery mode both CPUs will drop their core clock down to 1.2GHz and require 1.2V Vcore. Their TDP will automatically drop down to 20.8W.
According to Intel’s roadmap, which we managed to take a look at, only in Q4 Intel is going to release Pentium 4-M 2.2GHz after the upcoming Pentium 4-M 2GHz. In the beginning of next year, Intel is planning to introduce Pentium 4-M 2.4GHz, which will also be not the last one in the family, even though mobile Banias CPUs will be out by then.
Intel expects the new processors to be used in notebooks based on i845MP chipset supporting up to 1GB DDR266/DDR200 and i845MZ supporting up to 512MB DDR200 SDRAM.
