Just updated to 10.9.2…all's well again.

One little nugget with the install: After years of installing new versions of the OS only to have to endure an initial sluggishness on restart while Spotlight re-indexes your hard drive, the UX guys finally said - "lets tell them what's going on instead of them thinking their machine is broken!"

And so this is what you see after restart…



(Jobs would have hated it.)
