Indeed, because of the horrendous costs, the manufacture of vital spare parts has been outsourced to China which could make the same parts for much much less.

Many patriotic Americans however suspect this outsourcing could result in America being "sabotaged" by the Chinese manufacturers ---- in much the same way as the Iranians were sabotaged when they used vital parts imported from the west for their nuclear program.
