Obama wanted to squawk about the modern bullet trains and how he improved the infrastructure. The trains are just problematic for any state that accepts them. For a few billion up front the costs swiftly swell tremendously, leaving the states in heavy debt for little or no service. Just construction unions. The same for tunnels and bridges. Not to mention hefty fees for friends of Obama to design and build them.
