Where's a federal prosecutor when you need one? They'll spend millions putting Martha in jail for lying to an investigator, but they won't spend a penny, so far at least, to go after someone who appears to have forged military documents. A bit of pressure needed here? Who can exert it? Who can empanel a grand jury to look into this? I suspect DOJ is going slowly on this for fear of being accused of using its prosecutorial discretion to harm a political opponent of the administration. Maybe the State could get involved. What do you think the chances are Elliot Spitzer will want to look into this? Slim to none? Nil? Nada? Zip? Zero?
