Brian, I never buy puts on a stock I like longer term. But, when the stock hit $20, I sold a third of my position, and then sold another third at 24. I bought a third at 18 1/4 and popped it the second time it hit 20. I have filled my second third again at an average price of 12 3/4 and probably won't buy the last piece until $10. I am always shifting like that on a stock. It is not in my nature to let a total position run without me fussing at it. Sometimes I make more money and sometimes the big mama move comes and I only own a third. But, as my #1 goal is to not lose money, that doesn't bother me. MB
