Ray; [GIGM] Revenue dipped 4 percent to $11.8 million from $12.3 million. The company's gaming software division reported a slight drop in revenue to $7 million for the quarter from $7.1 million. Broadband ISP unit revenue fell 8 percent to $4.8 million from $5.3 million.
Quarterly results were also boosted by $1.1 million related to a favorable legal settlement.
For 2005, the company nearly quadrupled its profit to $6.3 million, or 13 cents per share, from $1.6 million, or breakeven per share, in 2004. Revenue from continuing operations for the year increased 34 percent to $44.2 million from $33 million.
GigaMedia saw the largest growth in its software unit, driven by its Everest Poker brand and the launch of new games. Revenue in the division grew 93 percent for the year to $22.5 million, and net income more than doubled, to $5.6 million from $2.2 million.
In the company's broadband ISP division, revenue dropped to $21.7 million from $22 million for the year, but profit in the division rose 47 percent to $2.2 million from $1.5 million because of reduced costs.
Looking ahead, the company anticipates first-quarter revenue will increase at least 40 percent from fourth-quarter levels, putting revenue at around $16.5 million.
