The same AOL Energy News source now has the following story:

NYMEX crude falls, Norway lawmakers nix output = 2

While majority in the Norwegian parliament opposed an oil output reduction, Norway's minority government said it wanted to cut production to help prop up flagging oil prices, according to reports from Norway.

Norway's oil minister was quoted as saying he will push for a 3 to 6 percent reduction in output and was still consulting with parliament on the matter.

NYMEX crude futures had a run-up in morning trading, peaking at $17.19 on expectations that Norway, the world's second largest exporter after Saudi Arabia, would cooperate with OPEC and other producers to reduce global oil output.
