take me back through the shift from 123 to Excel...I was gone (from the industry) while that was going on, but I gathered that MSFT's "Office bundle" did 'em in, with probably some IBM-ese PC-level goofs thrown in.

As I recall, it also didn't help that Lotus was VERY slow to get a Windows-based version of 123 out the door.
