Thanks for the feedback. I was just
trying to bring out different strategies
for value investors to play a significant
market downturn.

Other options for the value investor
at these market heights:

1) stay 100% long and raise cash
at target prices; moratorium
on buying -- for how long?

2) continue on business-as-usual
despite the market -- will likely
raise cash due to scarce new
buys -- the "natural" value-based
bear market strategy

3) Buy portfolio insurance in
the form of S&P index puts --
worsened the 1987 crash

4) Sell short SPDR's --
high capital requirements

5) Short the overpriced leaders
like Coke, Gilette -- problem
is they're good companies

6) Short tech stocks with
astronomical PSR's/PE's

7) Selling current true
values -- just doesn't
make sense to do this
on a hunch.

Other ideas welcome.

Good Investing,
Mike
