Calling Veterans a "flock" is inappropriate. Like any large group (there are ~25 million Vets in America), there is a variety of viewpoints among Veterans.

They do unite on several issues including:
1) Support for our troops in the field (proper equipment, training, medical care, etc.)
2) And most believe War should be a true "final resort". This is especially true of veterans that have seen combat (like my father).

On both these issues, there is significant anger directed towards Bush. On the issue of opposing the Vietnam war, I think there is a split view. Of the veterans I know, most applaud Kerry's stance. I readily admit this is a small sample, so please do not accuse me of the fallacy of composition.

But remember, Kerry took his stance the same year that the Pentagon Papers were released, revealing that LJB had lied to the American people. After that, most Veterans and most Americans joined Kerry and opposed the war.

Best to you.
