My opinion is simple. If we want to call ourselves free we have to let companies move their money where they want. Restricting who we can buy from using tariffs is anti capitalism and equally bad. We all want the same thing but how do we get there? The heavy hand of government (tariffs) or do we beat the other side with better tech? The US can't beat the other side without tariffs. China was building 5G across the globe. US CEOs were too dumb and too lazy to catch up with China so they supported tariffs and we ended free trade. If the US was building 5G across the globe would anyone have supported tariffs? Farmers lost their biggest buyer. They're idiots.
